I LOVE these cards. This Dragon Girl is so adorable! Look at her cute little feet, and her innocent smile. Plus, she’s got a dragon! Hanging on to him like he’s a plushie, and he wraps his tail around her so gently and lovingly. Yeah I REALLY love these cards!
The cut these cards are printed from is unique and antique. I found it in a box of old printing cuts I acquired. The really cool thing, is that it is 2 pieces that are not original to each other. The dragon girl is a professionally made magnesium cut from the 1940s. During its life someone decided that she needed to be a 2 color cut and then HAND CARVED into a wooden block the sections of blue for the dragon’s body. The juxtaposition of the two cuts is so interesting.
Printed on vintage coated yellow card stock in purple and teal with 4 white envelopes. Available on Etsy!

Happiness Note Cards. Hand letterpressed using antique lead type and a Victorian woodcut. Soon to be the last prints of the cut, as it is very old and delicate and won’t stand up to being printed for much longer.
Set of four cards, blank inside, single fold with plain white envelopes.
A great birthday card, “I Love You” card, wedding congratulations or Baby Announcement! So many things bring us happiness, and this card can express it beautifully.
This week I was accepted into the Saint Louis chapter of the Craft Mafia! I think this is very cool, and it will be very good for Lock and Key Press. I hope to be networking and craft fair-ing with all the members for the duration of my stay in Saint Louis. To see who’s who and who makes what, check out the newly added tab above titled Saint Louis Craft Mafia. All the members will be listed soon! Their are some incredibly talented people in this group and I’m proud to have been chosen to work among them!
Also, I have received my Membership packet from the Amalgamated Printer’s Association. I’m quite excited about this, as I’ve been asked by many of the printer’s I admire “Are you in the APA?” Now I can say YES! I am! Number #843! They even sent me a little tiny logotype that says “Amalgamated Printer’s Association MEMBER”.
All I’ve got to do is print up 200 copies of my “prop card” and send it in to make my membership “official”. So that’s what I’m doing today, as well as writing up the last bits of class materials, and making some color proofs for wedding invites I’m printing.
Maybe this momentum will continue and I won’t feel so much pressure about finding a full-time job…
Things I must do Today:

• Drink more water, i’m getting a headache…
Today I had a meeting with a really cool lady named Lisa who is a sales rep for greeting cards. She approached me during the Cherokee Print League Holiday Sale 2 weeks ago. I was at All Along Press peddling my wares for the holiday shoppers, and it was a blast1 I didn’t strike it rich, but I sold enough to cover my costs which is a great confidence builder! I took note of which items sold well and plan to use that knowledge accordingly.
Anyway, Lisa and I spoke about what having/being a sales rep means and how it could work. I’m so small in business terms that she’s open to forms of barter and trade in place of monetary compensation! How cool is that? I LOVE barter relationships!
So I am putting together a small packet of samples for her to bring around to her appointments, and trying to figure out my wholesale costs so that I can make enough money to maybe supplement, if not support myself eventually.
I’m still going to continue promoting the Etsy thing, any way I can. There’s a daunting task: marketing and advertising. Who do I tell? How do I tell them? Where do I put ads? SO much to learn.
